The debt ceiling forces critters to vote to raise it, and I think it was intended to chasten spendthrifts. It hasn't.

@taiwan_girl It’s a photo of the son, or Crown Prince of Darkness in the World, of the currently designated Antichrist, George Soros.

My guess would be nothing to do with that and everything to do with Bob Iger.

@jon-nyc said in Reporter questions Hochul's crime stats: That was all under Trump. If you want to give him credit for positive stats with large exogenous influences that happened on his watch, you gotta take the negative ones too. Correct. On his watch. And, somehow POTATUS hasn't brought it down in the 1795 days he's been in office. In fact. It trended down until 2020, Trump's last year in office. I am glad he is taking a strong stance against the spreading of falsehoods.

Sure, there are some concerns, some may even be valid. But putting RFK Jnr. in charge of HHS is like asking Alex Jones to form a task force to address media bias.

Two edged sword. While I acknowledge the wrongness of it, I've seen the absolute renaissance that sort of thing has brought about in Cincinnati. here they declare areas blighted, whatever that means, and redevelop them.

@jon-nyc said in $1.17T.: So to the company I looked like someone who has 40k of credit card debt. I had a similar experience. I pay my estimated income tax and real estate tax using a credit card. Of course, there's a fee for using a card as opposed to check, but the credit card reward (cash back) exceeds the fee by a couple of bucks. It's not a big difference, but enough to buy a pizza (or four) a couple of times a year. My credit score dropped 10 points - for a while. That’s commitment. Seriously though, this struck me as odd: Activities I used to enjoy, like playing guitar and learning piano, are ... harder now that I'm blind, Those are two hobbies she has that blind people can master.

I have one and recently bought the repeater. But yeah, if it’s a security risk I’ll switch without a thought.

It probably feels more efficient and easier to them. Like we would naturally walk on the grass rather than the beach right next to it.

Very normal dish there. Not really different than whole fish except people feel funnier about mammals.

He’s too beholden to China to have the Top Secret clearance I suspect. My dad had ‘top secret code word’ clearances. The colloquial description of compartmentalized clearances. Analogous clearances for Israel, EU, and Kuwait. He worked on all of their defence communication systems in the 70s and 80s.
